CEAM was founded in Bologna in 1947.
At the beginning, it was mainly carrying out elevator maintenance and repair and gradually specializing in designing and manufacturing passenger and services elevators, progressively consolidating its image as a high quality elevator manufacturer with ever growing factories and divisions and technologically evolved machines .
In the early eighties CEAM entered and extending export market where it extended operations to various European and non European countries.
In 1983 the Company's development and rapid growth helped it to reach two important goals: firstly the designing and manufacturing of complete hydraulic pump units and secondly the acquisition of partnership with other companies in the elevator field, initiating a strong territorial extension that brrought CEAM to the forefront of the entire national territory, with a network of enterprises (Ceam Partnership) that today has 40 companies dealing in elevator sales, installation, care and maintenance.
In the 1985 CEAM joined the OTIS Group , world-wide Leader in vertical transport and exclusive owner of the multinational United Technologies Corporation.
In 1995 CEAM obtained certification for its Quality System in compliance with UNI EN 9001 regulations, continuing to operate in research and study of new solutions for vertical transport.
